Quercus agrifolia-the Coast Live Oak can be
wide-spreading and up to 50 feet tall or it can be
sheared into a good-looking 0- 12 foot hedge. Its
smooth dark grey bark covers a massive trunk that
twists with age.The leaves are rounded and holly-like. It
requires a well drained location and makes an excellent
shade or street tree. |

Sequoia sempervirens-the Coast Redwood is a fast
growing 50-70 foot narrow pyramidal evergreen.This stately
giant, one of the world's tallest trees, needs a lot of space to
grow and is excellent for hiding areas that are unattractive.
Its foliage colors range from light green to deep blue green. It
is an excellent landscaping tree and may be used singly or in
groups. Centuries old trees have reached heights of over 350
feet. |

3.
Tupidanthus calyptratus-is an evergreen
shrub or small tree with a single or multi trunk. It
requires a well drained soil and a sheltered location. Tupidanthus resembles the better known
Schefflera and is excellent for entryways or
patios. It also does well in a pool area. |

Arecastrum romanzoffianum (Queen Palm) -the
Queen Palm is a very fast grower which can reach a
height of 60 feet. It has an exceptionally straight
trunk with bright green glossy feather-like leaves 15
feet long.This palm can be used singly or in groups
and does well in a landscape with other plants. It will
tolerate a wide range of climates. |

Chamaerops humilis (Mediteranean Fan Palm)-the
Fan Palm is probably the hardiest of all palms. It is a very
slow grower and may eventually reach a height of 20 feet-
also a width of 20 feet. Clumps develop from offshoots and
leaves range from green to blue-green. |

Trachycarpus fortunei (Windmill Palm) -the
trunk on the Windmill Palm is thicker at the top than
bottom and is coated with hairy looking fibers.A
moderate to fast grower, it normally reaches a height
of 30 feet.The Windmill Palm is sometimes referred to
as Chamaerops excelsa. |
