SOD SPECIFICATIONS:
DOMINANCE BENTGRASS
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Dominance is a creeping bentgrass with an aggressive, upright growth habit, Dominance is an excellent greens quality turfgrass grown from a blend of SR1020 and SR1019 Bentgrass varieties. Featuring a deep green turf, Dominance combines heat and cold tolerance with the ability to withstand consistently low mowing heights.
RECOMMENDED USES:
Dominance Bentgrass is recommended for golf
putting greens, tees and fairways, It is also suitable for croquet courts and lawn bowling greens.
COMPOSITION:
Dominance is grown only from a unique blend of SR1020 and SR1019 Bentgrass seed. In order to reduce layering and enhance drainage, Dominance is grown on soil adhering to U.S.G.A. green's specifications. Dominance is delivered free of weeds, insects and disease.
MEASUREMENTS:
Dominance is harvested by machine to a uniform thickness 5/8 of an inch, plus or minus
1/4 of an inch, plus top growth. Dominance slabs measure 16 inches wide and 72 inches long when shipped, and contain 8 square feet of sod.
SHIPPING STANDARDS: Dominance is grown and maintained at a 1/4"
mowing height. It is rolled or folded with the soil facing out to protect the
turf from damage and stacked on pallets. Dominance is shipped sufficiently dry for transportation and handling, yet moist enough to facilitate installation. Dominance should be installed immediately
after delivery. Shipping pallets are the property of Pacific Sod. Should pallet pick-up be required, please make the arrangements with the office from which the sod was ordered.
TEMPERATURE TOLERANCE: Dominance is tolerant of both heat and
cold, and is adaptable to a wide variety of climates throughout the West.
WEAR RESISTANCE AND RECOVERY: Penncross was developed to
withstand and recover from the normal use and wear on golf course putting greens.
Excessive use and damage may require repair and recovery time.
SHADE TOLERANCE: Dominance has only moderate shade tolerance.
Other factors associated with shade, such as poor air circulation and wet or compacted soils will frequently weaken the turf.
SOIL AND SALT TOLERANCE: Dominance prefers a moderately acidic
soil with good moisture holding ability and requires good drainage to perform to its optimum. Soil or water high in salts may be a limiting factor in the growth of healthy Dominance. Salinity levels should be determined prior to specifying this variety.

ESTABLISHMENT & MAINTENANCE
WATERING: Newly
planted Dominance should be watered daily and kept wet for the first 10-14 days. The sod should not be allowed to dry out. Once the sod has begun to establish a new root system, watering frequency should be reduced.
MOWING, FERTILIZATION & OTHER MANAGEMENT PRACTICES: Creeping bentgrasses such as Dominance require an intensive turf management program that begins immediately after establishment. A green's type mower is an absolute must for mowing, and a well managed program of fertilization and weed and disease control is required. Due to its high cultural requirements, the most successful creeping bentgrass turf
areas are those cared for by turfgrass professionals who are well versed in its management.
